Korean Gov't Delaying Selection of 3G Operators
June 24, 2005
The Korean government has announced that its selection of 3G operators will be delayed until 2006. As a result the start of 3G services for Korean consumers, which originally had been planned for June 2005, will also be delayed. The government stated that it had made this decision because possible operators are not yet sufficiently prepared to offer 3G services.

On another note, the government forecasts 15 million 3G subscriptions in the first year of services, which now will be 2006. This number is expected to grow to 45 million in 2007 and 75 million in 2008.
